Art-Therapy Inspired Tufting in Brussels — Create, Relax & Learn to Make a Carpet You Can Sell
Escape the daily grind with a tufting gun in your hands.
From creative art-therapy to creating your own carpets you can sell.
“Let’s Make a Carpet” Tufting Courses in Brussels is a hands-on learning experience where creativity, relaxation and practical rug-making skills come together. Based on more than 20 years of professional carpet production, the school teaches you not simply how to use a tufting gun, but how to make a rug correctly, efficiently and with a professional approach.
Tufting is much more than a creative craft. It can also be an art-therapy inspired creative experience — a way to switch off from office work, mental pressure and everyday stress while concentrating on a simple, tangible creative task.
And there is something particularly rewarding about tufting: you can see the result of your work relatively quickly. Your idea gradually becomes a real rug that you have made with your own hands.
For some people, this may simply be an enjoyable way to relax. For others, it can become a new hobby and, with further learning and practice, potentially develop into an additional or even primary source of income.

Professional Technique — Even on Hobby Equipment | Click
At Just for Fun! and Hobby Brussels, we use high-quality hobby-level tufting guns, but the training takes place on professional metal frames with professional tufting fabric and high-quality English wool rug yarn.
This combination is important.
I want your first to be made using proper technology and quality materials, rather than treating the workshop as a simple demonstration of how to operate a tufting gun.
I will teach you how to work correctly from the beginning: how to hold the gun, how to move it, how to work with the frame and how to achieve a good result with less unnecessary effort.
The goal is not simply to finish a carpet. The goal is to learn how to make a good carpet.
From Your First Carpet to Carpets You Can Sell
If you are considering tufting as a possible source of additional income, it is important to understand the difference between making a hobby project and producing a product.
Making one attractive carpet for yourself is one thing.
Creating a carpet that you can confidently offer to a customer is something else.
A customer may look at the design, pile quality, density, surface finishing, edge treatment, durability and overall quality of the product.
That is why I want to give you the right technical foundation from your very first session.
I do not promise a specific income. The selling price and profit depend on the design, size, materials, quality of production, brand, marketing and your ability to find customers.
What I can teach you is the technology that forms the foundation for producing a quality carpet .
You will not simply learn how to make a carpet. You will learn how to create a product that can potentially be sold.
Why Is the Training So Affordable?
The price is €100 for Just for Fun! and €180 for Hobby Brussels, with all necessary materials included.
I can keep the cost of the workshops accessible because of my more than 20 years of experience in professional rug production and my long-standing relationships with material suppliers.
This allows me to source quality materials at better prices and avoid passing unnecessary costs on to students.
Affordable training therefore does not mean compromising on the quality of the essential materials.

Why Just for Fun! Is More Than an Ordinary Tufting Workshop | Click
Just for Fun! is designed for people who want to discover tufting without immediately buying equipment, materials and spending weeks learning on their own.
In just four hours, you can discover whether tufting really interests you and whether you enjoy the process enough to continue.
But you will not simply make a few test movements with a tufting gun. Under my guidance, you will start creating a real 40 × 50 cm carpet.
Just for Fun! is also an art-therapy inspired creative experience.
Tufting can be a good way to switch off after office work or other forms of mental pressure. The process involves repetitive and sometimes monotonous movements, but it is not heavy physical labour. You focus on a creative task, work with your hands and gradually see a tangible result appearing in front of you.
This combination can be particularly satisfying: instead of spending hours in front of another screen, you concentrate on something physical and creative and finish with an object you have actually made yourself.
And the result is fast enough to be motivating: by the end of the workshop, you will have a real carpet made by your own hands.
Hobby Brussels – an in-depth study of carpet tufting
Hobby Brussels sessions will take place for Saturdays and Sundays, approximately from 11:00 to 19:00.
This longer format gives you more time to understand the technology of rug making, develop better control of the tufting gun and create a larger carpet, including a design of your own too.
Hobby Brussels — Go Deeper and Create Your Own Design | Click
If after your first experience you discover that tufting really appeals to you, the next step is Hobby Brussels.
During the 8-hour session, you can go much deeper into the rug-making process and create a larger carpet of approximately 70 × 80 cm, based on one of the available designs or your own idea.
During the session, we will work with:
- correct use of the tufting gun;
- line direction and pile density;
- proper stretching of tufting fabric;
- design preparation and transferring the design;
- carpet surface finishing;
- edges and basic finishing techniques;
- carpet shearing;
- general principles of professional rug production.
Before the session, you can choose one of the suggested designs or propose your own.
We use high-quality wool rug yarn specifically designed for carpet and rug production, rather than ordinary knitting yarn intended for clothing.
All necessary materials are included in the training price.
The rug you make belongs to you.

Private lessons are arranged individually according to your needs and schedule.
I Will Teach You How to Make a Carpet You Can Sell
This is not simply a marketing slogan. It describes the main idea behind my approach to teaching.
There are thousands of videos online showing how to operate a tufting gun. But pressing the trigger and making a few lines of yarn does not mean that you know how to produce a good-quality carpet.
Professional carpet making begins with correct technique.
I will show you how to hold the tufting gun correctly, how to guide the line, how to control movement and pile density, how to work at different frame heights and how to position your body while working.
These details have a direct effect on the quality of the rug, your working speed and the physical effort required.
I have been professionally producing carpets using the hand-tufting method since 2003. During more than 20 years of working at Carpet Studio, I trained more than 30 people in professional tufting, shearing and carving. These specialists worked with me between 2003 and 2022.
That is why even when teaching on hobby-level equipment, I teach a professional way of working.
The equipment may be amateur, but the technique, working principles and knowledge behind the training are professional.
